Suttind Seed Pvt. Ltd. was established in 1991 by Mr. Suresh Kumar, Chairman, Kumar Group of Companies, Kolkata and managed by a team of professionals. The main objective of the Company are to established a leadership in vegetable and flower seed industry at home and abroad. Since then it has developed a solid base in production of new varieties and also to provide quality seeds to the Indian farmers. The present management is led by Dr. I. K. Arora took over in 1999. The emphasis shifted to hybrid seeds keeping in view the present trends and needs of the farmers. To further improve and streamline operations, the major operations of the company shifted from Kolkata to Delhi.

The company has branches in Kolkata, Banglore, Nasik and Jullundher, besides production and trial units in Srinagar (Kashmir), Solan (HP), Rannebenur (Karnataka) and Guntur (AP). Through the company has been traditionally strong in temperate vegetable crops, it has worked hard to established itself as an important played in tropical seeds also. The company is also active in flowers seeds market and caters to the needs of amateur gardeners as well as professional growers. Besides production and marketing in the brand of "Suttind", the company is also distributing packet seeds in "SUTTON" brand from Sutton Consumer Products, UK and also Goldsmith Seeds Inc., USA.

Suttind Seeds is aware of the increasing changes in the seed industry around the globe and are developing varieties for better quality, adaptability, disease and insect pest resistance. Our modest research programme ensures that we develop and select varieties suited to our farmers. As such new varieties are introduced into market after comprehensive testing programme - involving growers and dealers of the area where the variety is to be marketed. While keeping up with the trends of hybrid in temperate crops, the company has been able to ensure continuous up grading of our native tropical varieties and have successfully introduced varieties of Bottle gourd, Bitter gourd, Tomato, Okra etc. besides developing our own hybrid of these varieties. All vegetable seeds are produced under strict control. Seeds are continuously being tested for varietal and genetic purity, germination, vigor and other factors that contribute to a quality product.
